“Sunset’s at eight”
I mean, there are settings for a wedding, and then there’s getting whisked off across Europe to the tiny island of Santorini! Woah!! Never in a million years did I think that would be me… But this summer I got to tell the amazing wedding story of Matt & Anna, both from here in the UK, and a couple who totally fell in love with those crazy warm sunsets, watching the waves hit the shore from up high, and the taste of amazing Greek Moussaka… I mean you can hardly blame them, right? So it didn’t take them long to want to invite their closest friends and family to the tiny island where Matt popped the question to start off this epic adventure!
Finding the perfect spot can be pretty tough, but on a recent visit, they’d found a spot high up on the cliff edge named Santorini Gem, and my word, the view was a gem indeed. Located right next to one of Santorini’s only winery’s, and with nothing but the Aegean sea and the coastline in sight, their outdoor wedding really couldn’t have had a better backdrop to it! The only slight hurdle, with both Matt & Anna getting ready in different parts of the island, and after some serious searching (and dicing with Santorini traffic… it’s nuts) a few days beforehand, I literally jumped up in joy after finding a gorgeous little church hidden away, and perfect for their “first look” pictures. A gorgeous white roof for us to climb up on, check. Rolling onto some gorgeous countryside, check. No tourists in sight, check! The day was set! And what a day it was. Guests jaws dropping as they saw the view in front of them, and ready to celebrate an amazingly special moment for Matt & Anna. Live Sax accompanied everyone looking out at the views, fireworks exploded and sore feet were felt after a night of hefty dancing. That, is how you celebrate!! (mic drop)
