San Diego Winter Wedding – Erica & Mackenzie

San Diego Magic

There are times when an email will land in your inbox and it quite literally blows you away! Not just with a wry smile kinda way, but a full on leap in the air kind of excitement! Yep, the bride Erica (and I just have to pinch myself when this happens) asked me to fly across the ocean to the gorgeous city of San Diego to capture their incredible wedding story! Gorgeous golden winter sunsets, the Pacific ocean and as a side note… some of the best Mexican food you’ll find, seriously, it’s the absolute bomb! I just knew we were in for a total treat and my goodness, it didn’t disappoint!

Erica and Mackenzie had always wanted a more intimate setting to tell their wedding story. With their close family and friends travelling in from all over the states and wrapping up all their loves in life; Good food, a cracking party and the main love in their lives, classical music. They got it all, including live performances from family and friends, just wow! Erica is actually a professor in the classics, and it’s where the adventure began, both meeting while studying it at University, awesome huh!? And with all this happening at the gorgeous ZLAC rowing club, a perfect hidden spot right on the quiet Mission Bay. Just the sounds of water birds tweeting, the rumble of rollerbladers making their way past and distant paddle-boarders lapping at the water. Yeah, it’s safe to say this place was unbelievably idyllic to say the least.

Being able to tell the story and capture the personalities of these two unbelievably awesome people in the gorgeous city of San Diego was beyond a privilege. So much love and laughter, and being able to shoot that in front of the kind of sunsets that San Diego throws up, is just seriously never going to get old!

Guys, thank you so much!!
